Types of Bees
Queen Bee
The Queen keeps everything working in the hive. When fertile she can lay up to 1,500 eggs per day. She releases certain pheromones that have incredible effects on the rest of the colony. Her pheromones give the bees something to work for and makes the colony whole.
Drone Bee
The drone is the only male bee in the hive. He roams around the hive indulging himself in the resources his female workers have created. His only job is to fly to a congregation area and mate with the queens in the area. Once he has mated he dies. He is the only bee in the hive with no stinger.
Worker Bee
The worker bees are all female. They are the main workers of the hive and have huge responsibilities. They take care of the queen, protect the hive and forage for resources such as pollen and nectar. The workers are also responsible for hive maintenance and cleanliness and they also make the honey.
